Welcome to the New Nommy!

The site has gone through a complete rebuild in the past few weeks, and if I do say so Gecko and I are really proud of it. If you are seeing this you've been given a sneak peak under the hood. Welcome and enjoy. Ninety percent of the functionality should be in place and operational so please test it out. Shoot me an email if you find something broken.

Our new site is a 100% Joomla backend with a theme and several mods provided by the fine folks over at Rockettheme. They have some amazing work on tap over there, I recommend them. Why did we change over to Joomla from Wordpress? Simple: I have a software link between the forums and the front end site. That's difficult to do with Wordpress and simplicity with Joomla. Speaking of the forums, they are pure phpBB3 along with more Rockettheme work on the skin. We're tracking visitors (we see you!) with Google Analytics and serving up ads via our good friends at Google AdSense.

Overall I would say that building this site has been some of the most rewarding website I've ever done because it's all come together so smoothly. Thanks to my wife and family for helping Gecko and I test things out and offering words of encouragement as well.

BTW: If anyone needs some Joomla consulting I'll be happy to provide a table of fees. :)
