One of the things I have wanted to do for a while now is try a mysterious little drink called absinthe. Well, with Gecko coming into town this week I decided now was the time to dance with the green fairy. On Tuesday night we are planning on doing this and we hope to have some chat setup so we can share our experiences with our Nommy readers. The fairy has a long and sometimes sordid history, from being the elite drink for the high and mighty to being outlawed around the globe and everything in between. Finally, after decades of being banished she is returning stronger and stronger each year. Nowadays there are dozens of makes on the market and even our local liquor shop has 3 varieties on sale. For our excursion we decided on St. George from California, which gets some amazing reviews.
