Lest we forget...

So we're all foodies here, at least I hope so. But I had a wonderful evening with my family (beautiful wife and wonderful kids) all centered around this gnocchi here along with a marinara sauce straight out of Cooks Illustrated. Now don't get me wrong, the food was awesome, but it was the company that made the night.

Sitting around the table while I rolled and cut the gnocchi was my lady, Robin. We've been together just at ten years now and are still in love just as much as the first day. And yes, I would write that even if I didn't know she was going to read it. Also close by were two of her three sons and their ladies as well. Michael, her second oldest who is living with us while he gets his feet under him. Earlier this year he moved to Arkansas with us after a nasty breakup. Robin loves having him near her again, and who wouldn't, he's good people. He and his lady, Alli helped me boil the gnocchi and I've got to tell you Alli is a blast. She's really fitting into the family and I love messing with her. Nicholas, Robin's baby and his lady Gabby were sitting there at the table. Gabby had helped me by grating up a block of Parmesan and Nick was helping out by throwing around sarcastic, funny comments. He's getting ready to join the Navy in a few weeks as a medic and we're all going to miss him terribly. So... food. Yeah, who cares, really? It's the company that makes this so much fun. We were passing around a bottle of wine, some basil pesto, warm french bread and lots of love. Take all the pretty pics you want, write all the elegant prose you want to... it's the family, stupid.
